A magnificent garden appeared in the village of Bilin, near the West Bank city of Ramallah, as a symbol of peaceful protest against the never-ending violence of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
A Palestinian woman planted a garden full of flowers that grow from used tear gas grenades which were collected from the clashes between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians.
The unusual garden was created on a land that Palestinians were able to reclaim after a court battle two years ago to re-route Israel’s controversial security wall.
The peculiar garden of flowers created there is, without any doubt, a beautiful act by the people living right in the center of the conflict. Through their creativity and strong spirit, they started their beautiful demonstration against the continuing violence in the region.
