Bulgaria – At the Bottom of the Charitable Giving Chart

According to the World Giving Index, Bulgaria is ranked at the bottom of the “giving” chart, consisting of 135 countries.


The World Giving Index is published annually by the international non-profit organization “Charities Aid Foundation”. The report shows the average percent of people who have donated money, those who have volunteered, and the ones who have helped a stranger. It is a worldwide data compiled within the last five years.

Bulgaria Charity

Bulgaria ranks 118th among all participants. According to the report, 19% of the Bulgarians have engaged in voluntary activities, and the country holds 112th position for giving a hand to an absolute stranger. 15% of the Bulgarians said they had donated money to a charity organization.


The most generous countries in the chart are USA, Canada, Myanmar, New Zeland and Ireland.
