How to Celebrate St. Valentine’s Day If You Are Single

As you’ve probably noticed, this month we keep talking about love. Love is what makes the world go round, and all lovers are truly fortunate. Yet if you happen to be one of those coldly passing by red balloons and sugary cards, completely escaping the grip of romantic euphoria simply for the lack of a sweetheart to share this long awaited February day of love, we’ve got news for you. You still have a reason to celebrate – and that’s loving life and yourself.

How can you have all the fun in the world in spite of common perceptions that this is a day to be celebrated only by couples in love? Here are some ideas.

Holidays are best celebrated together. Invite your single friends and make the evening a feast for the senses. Decorate your dinner table with fragrant flowers, scented candles, and of course – a hearty meal prepared by you all. Glasses full of red wine are indispensable – you know that according to Bulgarian tradition February 14 is also a day dedicated to wine.

Love Day

If you consider night a dear friend and clubbing on Friday – a must, then you don’t need to be reminded that the city is out there waiting for you with all those singles eager to amuse themselves and meet new people. Get together!

May be you prefer the coziness and comfort of your home? No problem, but don’t forget that giving in to the urge to open that inspirational book on your nightstand or listen to your favorite emotional ballads may be risky. What you risk is neglecting your happiness and sinking into deep depression just because there’s no one keeping you company in bed right now.

If, on the other hand, you are self-sufficient – congratulations! To reach this ultimate state of mind you’ve travelled a road full of continuous inner controversy and hostile general opinions.

Many people think that being single means being free. If you share this opinion, this is the perfect time to spoil yourself a little. An unplanned trip to a nearby destination, a day of sweet nonchalance, may be even some SPA treatments, and last, but not least – a chance to do what you’ve always wanted to do, but never had the time.

Imagine that on this day you have all the time in the world, and do what makes you happy. We won’t be surprised if you really like it and decide to make it a habit. We sincerely wish you so!
