Bulgarian celebrity Iva Ekimova supported Holiday Heroes effort and brought a ray of hope into the life of a 91-year old lady.
Sunday saw the windup of Holiday Heroes’ gift boxes packing and delivery campaign. In the four days of the initiative our holiday heroes assembled 4, 192 boxes, each chockfull with both staple foods such as flour, cooking oil, beans, cheese, chicken meat, etc., and treats like pastry, cookies, Christmas buns, and various soft drinks. We didn’t forget to add in every box toys for the little ones in the needy families.
Hundreds of enthusiastic volunteers joined the ranks of Holiday Heroes, aided as usual by an array of celebrities—the perfect holiday surprise for all Holiday Heroes’ hosts. On the last day of the campaign TV presenter and PR expert Iva Ekimova showed up with a holiday box at the door of Mariya—a widowed old lady aged 91 with a miserable retirement pension of 100 Euros.
To help this many households at Christmas 2014, Holiday Heroes relied on the financial and in-kind donations by thousands of individuals and organizations, on socially responsible media, volunteers, celebrity ambassadors of Holiday Heroes’ mission, and many partners in Holiday Heroes’ events and initiatives. Just two years after Holiday Heroes’ first charity campaign, this united effort made a truly happy Christmas possible for thousands of families across Bulgaria.
