Seven socially responsible companies and many celebrities who support Holiday Heroes competed in the first “Sport with a Mission” race at Sofia Karting Ring.

NIK finished first, with an average time of 00:48:474.  SBTech came second, followed by Epam. Evgeni Ivanov, Alexandra Zhekova, Leo Bianchi, Eleonora Mancheva, and Pavel Vladimirov, who made up the celebrities team, took the fourth place.

Four of the best representatives of Bulgaria’s high-speed world mentored the teams and gave them some tips on how to carry the day.  NIK and SBTech teams’ mentor was Nikolay Varbitsaliev—the first Bulgarian in Formula BMW, also Bulgaria’s karting champion and event host. Eight-time Bulgarian rally champion Dimitar Iliev coached the teams of TELUS International and Lidl, while Holiday Heroes’ celebrity ambassadors and OpenIntegra relied on Angel Karanyotov—four-time European Supermoto gold medalist. The lots decided that Epam’s and Vivacom’s teams should be instructed by Krum Donchev, fourfold Bulgaria’s rally champion.

The mentors said after the race that their task had been demanding, but incredibly fulfilling, so they’d be happy to do this again.

All competitors in the karting race got sports backpacks by Sport Vision. Those who made it to the podium had additional special prizes by Porsche Design, through Cosmetic Plus. Our generous hosts Sofia Karting Ring provided the grand prize for the winners from NIK, while Lidl made sure all guests felt more than welcome with delicious treats and drinks.
